A Review Of 16-inch MacBook Pro
2.4GHz 8-core Core i9 (2019)
The 16-inch MacBook Pro is now out in the market, and it
seems to be fulfilling user demands. It has been a tradition of Apple to work
on innovations and set the tone and directions. However, the users lately have
been complaining about the number of things in the older MacBook Pro computers.
The new MacBook Pro 16-inch seems to be what users have been asking for.
While 15-inch MacBook Pro has been a good computer for the
Apple fans, 16-inch version tends to bring the excitement with the help of
performance and usability.
No more butterfly keyboard
Among all of the features that are being offered in 16-inch
MacBook Pro, Magic Keyboard is the one that seems to steal the show. The
butterfly mechanism keyboard is now gone and Apple hopes for the most of user
complains about the previous MacBook Pro to be resolved with this change.
The new keyboard is the same that comes with the iMac. It is
a keyboard based on scissor mechanism and it tends to feel quite differently as
compared to the previous keyboard. This new keyboard feels better with the
softer keys.
The Magic Keyboard is a lot quieter than the butterfly
keyboard. The tapping of the keys sounds really well.
Apple has continued with the touch bar in all of the MacBook
Pro 2019 versions. The little change that has been made is that the escape key
is no longer merged in the touch bar. Touch ID is also a separate button on the
other side of the touch bar. The arrow keys on the keyboard are reverted back
to inverted-T layout. These changes have been really appreciated by the Apple
fans.
One thing worth mentioning about the keyboard is that its
development is done after a great amount of research by people working on the
Apple. They studied human behavior in response to the use of certain keyboards.
And so, they selected the keyboard that has been preferred by most of the
people.
CPU, GPU, and performance
Another signature feature of the MacBook Pro 16-inch is its
processing and video performance. Apple has used the latest ninth-generation
(codenamed Coffee Lake) Intel processors in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. These are
the same processors that had been used in the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The high end
mode of 16-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with 2.4GHz 8-core Intel Core i9
processor. The model with standard configurations, 2.6GHz 6-core Core i7
processor, is available at price of $2,399. While the high end model is
available at a price of $2,799.
The graphics subsystem has been upgraded with an AMD Radeon
Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. The 4GB version is included in the $2,799
standard configuration. And $2,399 model is equipped with 4GB AMD Radeon Pro
5300M.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro models include 16GB of memory in
their standard configurations. You can upgrade this memory up to 64GB at the
time of purchase. Since this 2666MHz DDR4 RAM is the part of the motherboard,
it cannot be upgraded later.
Bigger display
The 15-inch display in 2018 MacBook Pro was neither admired nor completely disliked by the users. But the 16-inch version has brought great excitement. The native resolution of 16-inch screen is 3072x1920 pixels. The bezels of this computer are much smaller as compared to 15-inch computer. The brightness supported by this computer’s screen is 500 nits. It also supports P3 color gamut. These configurations are great for the people interested in video editing.
